Please join us on Saturday, July 30, for "Taking Flight," a moving art installation where fashion breathes new life into painting, featuring local artist Adam Hernandez’s evocative Land of Thunderbirds exhibition and the couture creations of Peruvian fashion designer Juan Jose Saenz-Ferreyros.

This moving, interactive art installation will fly you to another world of avian-inspired beauty. Encounter an evening of art like no other you have experienced before.

Beverages and refreshments will be provided. Doors open at 7 pm, show begins at 8 pm. Tickets are $15 online presale, $20 at the door.  Tickets available here through Eventbrite.

Juan Jose Saenz-Ferreyros is a highly acclaimed Peruvian fashion designer. Relatively new to the Columbus area, Juan has already taken the fashion scene by storm, showcasing his creations in multiple shows, including the 2015 Highball Costume Couture contest. Juan's line, Ferreyros Couture, will also be featured in this year's Columbus Fashion Week finale.
His custom-designed couture and costuming has been worn by prestigious celebrities and pageant contestants worldwide, including Miss Colombia Universe and Miss Peru US. Ferreyros Couture has been seen on the runway in locations such as Washington D.C., Philadelphia, and New York City.

Adam Hernandez's paintings are portals to an alternate universe: a world where Aztec-inspired gods and kings traverse amongst squalor and splendor, contemplating life’s heavy issues.
Hernandez was born and raised in the Bronx to a family of musicians and performers. As a child, the bravado and vibrancy of the graffiti that covered every surface of his city spoke to him. With the city's inspiration and the encouragement of his oil painter grandfather, Hernandez set down an artistic path.
Throughout his career, Hernandez has also found inspiration in the works of Pablo Picasso, Egon Schiele, Francis Picabia and Paul Cézanne, as well as the Abstract Expressionist Movement, the Lowbrow Art Movement and comic books. Hernandez currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.

“This is a journey to a place where time and space melt away. There are no rules. The gods and fates are not fair. This is a realm of imagination. Fierce beauty and endless unknown. History is written in the sky. This is a new take on the urban jungle. Giant birds nest in the ruins of once great cities. To survive here, you must put away fear.
This is not our land. This is the Land of Thunderbirds.”
